Toronto FC's road woes continue with loss to Inter Miami
- Toronto FC 0, Inter Miami 4 (Farías 45’+3’; Taylor 54’, 87'; Cremaschi 73’)
- TFC winless in 14 MLS games (with 13 losses) when they concede 1st
- Messi lasts just 37 minutes before being subbed out with an injury
Toronto FC managed to keep Lionel Messi off the scoresheet on Wednesday but still managed to suffer a humiliating defeat to Inter Miami.
Miami cruised to a 4-0 victory at DRV PNK Stadium without the benefit of the World Cup winner who left the game in the first half with an injury, sending TFC to their second straight loss in MLS.
Toronto (4-15-10) is now winless in 18 consecutive road games in all competitions (with 14 losses) dating back to last year and have lost seven in a row by a combined score of 22-1. The team's previous road win was a 2-0 decision over Charlotte FC on Aug. 28, 2022. TFC sports the league's worst road record (0-10-4) and is the only team in MLS this year to have not won a single away match.
Wednesday’s setback was another shining example of TFC’s complete inability to come from behind and how easily it folds in the face of adversity. The Reds have conceded the first goal in 14 MLS games this season – they’ve lost 13 and drawn once. A decent opening 45 minutes from the Reds was undone when they conceded just before halftime and then coughed up three more goals in the second half.
