TFC Talk: The Chris Armas era at Toronto FC
Armas had the second shortest tenure of any TFC coach, but he packed a lot in during his disastrous seven-month spell in charge.
Saturday's game at Dick's Sporting Goods Park between Toronto FC and the Colorado Rapids is important for both clubs.
TFC are fighting to hold onto eighth place in the Eastern Conference, while Colorado is looking to move up from fourth in the Western Conference.
It's the first meeting between the two sides since 2021 and it's also a reunion of sorts as it'll mark the first time that Chris Armas (Colorado's current coach) faces his former club since being fired by Toronto on July 4, 2021.
With just 15 games under his belt, Armas had the second-shortest stint of any TFC coach (tied with Terry Dunfield's run in 2023), beating interim coach Nick Dasovic (in 2010) by only five games. A lot happened during Armas' seven-month spell in charge, including the team getting off to one of its worst ever starts, the feud with Jozy Altidore, and that infamous 7-1 road loss to D.C. United.
