Toronto FC vs. Vancouver Whitecaps: What you need to know

This week's Canadian Championship final between Toronto FC and the Vancouver Whitecaps will see the sides renew their MLS rivalry in Canadian soccer's top cup competition.

While TFC beat a pair of teams from League1 Canada and Forge FC to get this far, the Whitecaps bested CPL outfits Cavalry FC and Pacific FC to clinch a berth in the final. Neither MLS team defeated a top tier opponent along their path, so Wednesday's game should be their toughest test of the tournament.

"There's a certain sacrifice, and on a certain level, suffering that you have to be prepared to do playing in an away final. ... Usually, it's the teams that have that attitude along with their game plan and execute both together. But you have to bring the attitude. I think the most important of the two is the attitude and the sacrifice which you put into the game," TFC captain Jonathan Osorio offered.

Here’s what you need to know about Wednesday's match between Toronto and Vancouver at BC Place (10:00 p.m. ET/OneSoccer).
