MLS playoff race: The tough road ahead for Toronto FC
It looks like it will go down to the wire for TFC in their battle to clinch a playoff berth for the first time since 2020.
A 2-0 road loss to the Colorado Rapids last weekend was a disastrous result for Toronto FC and its bid to stay above the playoff line during the business end of the MLS regular season.
TFC blew a chance to separate from the teams below them in the Eastern Conference standings and to move up the table. With only three games remaining, they're running out of time to put some distance between themselves and the clubs that are chasing them.
"It's tough with the games dwindling down to accept a result like this, but we just want to move on," defender Shane O'Neill said after the loss in Colorado.
