Footy Prime: Playoffs or bust for Toronto FC

These are very interesting times for Toronto FC.

TFC are still clinging to eighth place and the second-last playoff spot in the Eastern Conference despite a disappointing 3-1 home loss to D.C. United last weekend. Coach John Herdman didn't mince words after the defeat, admitting that he felt the Reds lacked urgency and were too complacent against D.C., especially in a match against a rival that is trying to catch them in the table.

"As a staff collectively, as a player group, we have to die on the pitch and put everything out there for the fans, for each other to reach our goal. And I think we just didn't feel it. I didn't feel like we were all there ready to die for that performance ... If we really want to reach what I think we are capable of, we’ve got to die for it. We’ve been on a decent run and tonight again it’s that Jekyll and Hyde TFC," Herdman stated.

So, where does all of this leave TFC with only six games remaining in the season?

Host James Sharman and his Footy Prime cohorts, Canadian Soccer Hall of Famers Amy Walsh, Craig Forrest and Jim Brennan, welcomed TFC Republic's John Molinaro to get his take on Toronto FC's playoff push, Herdman's frustrations and Lorenzo Insigne needing to step up.
