Canada vs. United States: What you need to know
Idle since its fourth-place finish at the Copa América, Canada returns to action in Saturday's friendly vs. the U.S. in Kansas City.
A semifinal showing in its debut at the Copa América this summer left the Canadian men's team riding high.
But now it's time to get back to work for Jesse Marsch's men as they face a pair of international friendlies against top Concacaf rivals in the United States and Mexico this month.
Before the team went its separate ways after the Copa, Marsch challenged his players to go back to their pro clubs and continue to implement the things they had been working on during their time with the national team. The hope was that they could pick up where they left off when they returned to the Canadian camp this month. Marsch has been pleased with what he's seen on that front.
"I can say that from watching them play for their clubs that they've all done that and they've raised their levels of performance. So, that's been very positive," Marsch told TFC Republic this week.
Here’s what you need to know about Saturday's match between Canada and the U.S. at Kansas City's Children's Mercy Park (4:00 p.m. ET/OneSoccer).
