Sinclair highlights CanWNT roster for June friendlies
The Canadian women’s team will roll into a pair of Olympic tune-up matches next month with their iconic captain in tow.
Coach Bev Priestman announced her 28-player roster on Thursday for games against the Czech Republic and Brazil, and her squad list includes Christine Sinclair, who limped off injured during a game against Wales in April and sat out Canada’s next match a few days later vs. England. Sinclair had previously missed the SheBelieves Cup tournament earlier in the year due to injury.
In the aftermath of the April friendlies, Canada’s captain returned to action for her pro club, helping the Portland Thorns win the NWSL Challenge Cup tournament. Sinclair also recently scored her 50th NWSL regular-season goal, making her only the third player in league history to reach the 50-goal plateau.
