State of the Union: The Bob Bradley era is over at Toronto FC
On Monday morning, Toronto FC announced that Bradley had been relieved of his duties as head coach and sporting director, effective immediately. Assistant coach Mike Sorber was also fired. Terry Dunfield has been appointed interim head coach of TFC.
Club president Bill Manning will speak to reporters on Tuesday morning about Bradley's departure, but he did issue a statement on Monday, saying: "Bob has been a consummate professional with Toronto FC and we thank him for his passion and tireless work during his time here. We are all disappointed that we were not able to achieve the results we expected."
(NOTE: I'll have a full-length, in-depth article on Manning's comments to the media after Tuesday's practice. I'll also have more analysis on Bob Bradley's departure throughout this week).
In the latest video blog, I break down the news about Bradley's firing, what this means for Toronto FC going forward, why Dunfield was selected to take charge of the team, and much more.
