TFC's Alex Bono remains philosophical about contract status
“I would love to stay. I love Toronto. This city is all I know. … I’m fully committed to being here,” Bono tells TFC Republic.
It’s hard enough for some Toronto FC players at the moment to fight through what has become a turbulent season.
But spare a thought for those members of the roster, such as goalkeeper Alex Bono, who are out of contract at the end of the year. What must they be thinking after witnessing what’s happened over the previous nine months?
There’s been so much turnover and changes at the club since Bob Bradley’s appointment as TFC’s new coach and sporting director last November that the team is not so surprisingly still trying to find its footing as the MLS season enters the back stretch. Players have come and gone at a steady rate in the last week, with Alejandro Pozuelo shipped out to Inter Miami, fellow DP Carlos Salcedo released from his contract by mutual consent, and Mark-Anthony Kaye coming in via a trade with the Colorado Rapids.
