Toronto FC vs. Atlanta United: 3 takeaways
Toronto FC’s playoff hopes are looking dim following Wednesday night’s 1-0 road loss to Atlanta United.
It’s difficult, if not impossible, to see how TFC (3-11-6), who are now winless in five games, will mount a surging comeback over the last 14 matches of the season to qualify for the playoffs. They’re simply too far behind, although coach Javier Perez remains hopeful.
“We have 42 points in play still remaining, and I am convinced that this team has enough firepower and this team has enough in the tank to make a final push and run for that," Perez told reporters after the match.
