TFC puts in lifeless display in road loss to Fire
Toronto FC remains winless on the road this season following a disappointing effort in Chicago on Wednesday.
- Toronto FC 0, Chicago Fire 2 (Durán 4’, 16’)
- TFC winless in 9 road games this season, with 6 losses
- 28 league games in a row without a clean sheet for Reds
Toronto FC just can’t buy a win away from home.
Toronto extended its winless streak on the road to 17 consecutive MLS games with a woeful performance in Wednesday's 2-0 loss to the Chicago Fire at Soldier Field. The Reds are winless in their last four matches overall, with three losses.
On a night when they badly needed a gutsy performance, TFC came up horribly short against a Chicago side that moved out of the Eastern Conference basement and leapfrogged them in the standings. Toronto was defensively suspect and offensively impotent, and surprisingly lacked urgency for a club that is struggling for results. Conceding two goals inside the first 16 minutes put Toronto in a deep hole from which it couldn't dig out.
