Toronto FC vs. FC Dallas: What you need to know

After one of the most memorable and important off-seasons in club history, Toronto FC will finally take to the pitch this weekend for the start of the 2022 MLS campaign.

There are many questions facing the Reds this year after they finished second-last in the overall standings with an 6-18-10 record, and missed the playoffs in 2021.

Carlos Salcedo was signed to fortify a back line that leaked goals at an alarming rate last year, but will he be able to effectively gel with Chris Mavinga in a new-look defence? What shape will the club be in by early July when Lorenzo Insigne arrives? Will the team’s crop of youngsters be given a chance to play?
