Toronto FC vs. Inter Miami: 3 takeaways
Tuesday night’s 1-0 loss to Inter Miami was a bitter pill to swallow for Toronto FC.
Forced to play a man down for close to an hour after Kemar Lawrence’s red card, TFC put in a valiant effort against one of the hottest teams in the Eastern Conference and looked poised to earn a share of the points.
However, the Reds managed to shoot themselves in the foot by conceding a penalty deep into injury time. Miami’s Christian Makoun converted from the spot after being brought down by Chris Mavinga to send Toronto to its sixth straight loss and extend its winless streak to nine games.
TFC have now gone 20 straight matches without a shutout, and have recorded just a single clean sheet in 24 contests this season.
Here are my three major takeaways from Tuesday's game.
