TORONTO — Lorenzo Insigne was back on the pitch on Saturday night, but it was another attacker who came to Toronto FC’s rescue.
Brandon Servania scored his first goal of the season with virtually the last kick of the game deep into injury time to rescue a point for TFC in a 2-2 draw against Atlanta United before an announced crowd of 27,892 on a spectacular spring evening at BMO Field.
Richie Laryea also scored for Toronto (1-1-6) in his 100th appearance in all competitions for the Reds, becoming the 16th player in franchise history to reach that mark.
“[It’s] nice to make 100 appearances anywhere but more so for your hometown club… It would have been better to get three points, but nonetheless a cool milestone for me,” Laryea told reporters after the game.
