TFC Talk: What does Domenico Criscito's retirement mean for the Reds?
The 35-year-old Italian has announced he's hanging up his cleats, which leaves a big roster hole to fill for Toronto FC.
We hardly knew you, Domenico Criscito.
Criscito, 35, announced his retirement on Tuesday after a 19-year career, the last six months of which was spent in MLS at Toronto FC.
He was signed to a deal through the end of next season, but his future at the club was put in doubt last month when coach Bob Bradley told reporters he wasn't certain that Criscito would be back next year.
Although the Italian left fullback wasn't with TFC for very long, he left an indelible impression at the club with his displays on the pitch and how he carried himself away from the game. His departure leaves the Reds with a very big hole in their roster, one they need to fill this off-season prior to the 2023 MLS campaign.
In the latest TFC Republic video blog, I examine Criscito's time at Toronto FC and what his departure means for the club going forward.
