Jordan Perruzza gets 'best of both worlds' with Toronto FC and TFC 2
Ideally, Perruzza would like to get more opportunities in MLS. But the time spent on loan at TFC 2 this year has been special for him.
Like several youngsters on Bob Bradley's roster, Jordan Perruzza has spent considerable time bouncing between Toronto FC and TFC 2.
Perruzza, a 21-year-old native of Woodbridge, Ont., played two seasons with TFC 2 and one campaign on loan at San Antonio FC from 2018 to 2020 before making his Toronto FC debut last April in the Concacaf Champions League. A few days later, the young forward earned his first MLS appearance in Toronto’s season-opening loss to CF Montreal when he was subbed on at half-time.
This season, Perruzza has split his time pretty evenly between the senior side and being loaned out TFC 2, where he has scored twice in nine games, and played a role in what has turned out to be a historic campaign. Last weekend, Perruzza started in a 2-1 win away to Orlando City B, a result that sealed TFC 2’s first ever playoff berth. The junior Reds will host the Philadelphia Union 2 in the first round of the MLS NEXT Pro playoffs on Saturday night at BMO Field.
