- Toronto FC 4 (Osorio 19’, 44’; Bernardeschi 54’; Insigne 77’), Nashville SC 3 (Mukhtar 41’, Bunbury 45’+4’; Zimmerman 84’)
- TFC earns 1st road win since last July vs. Chicago
- Laryea records an assist in his return for the Reds
It was the moment that Toronto FC fans had been patiently waiting for since Lorenzo Insigne signed with the MLS club back in January.
The former Napoli captain lived up to his nickname of Il Magnifico (The Magnificent) on Saturday night, as he scored the winner via a highlight-reel effort as part of a man-of-the-match performance to propel TFC to an important 4-3 victory over Nashville SC at GEODIS Park.
With the Reds holding onto a slim one-goal lead in the second half, Insigne accepted a short pass from Michael Bradley and then took on three Nashville players before curling a gorgeous shot from 20 yards out that majestically nestled inside the near post. It was the Italian's first goal in four games in all competitions for TFC.
