TORONTO – Earlier this season, Toronto FC was the kind of team that folded at the first sign of trouble.
But those days are long gone. TFC now looks revitalized and bears no resemblance to the weak and frail side that stumbled their way through the first three quarters of the MLS campaign. There's now a resilience to this club that can serve it well as it fights for its playoff life down the final stretch of the season.
To wit, the Reds put forth a spirited effort in coming from behind to earn a 2-2 draw against the New England Revolution on Wednesday night before an announced crowd of 28,464 fans at BMO Field.
Federico Bernardeschi and Domenico Criscito scored for Toronto (8-12-6), who moved up one spot to 11th in the Eastern Conference and to within three points of Orlando City who holds down the seventh and final playoff spot in the East. TFC is now unbeaten in a season-high five matches.
