Toronto FC vs. Pacific FC: What you need to know
Toronto FC’s quest to salvage a bit of pride out of its disastrous 2021 continues this week when it hosts the CPL’s Pacific FC in the semifinals of the Canadian Championship.
TFC is coming off a 1-1 road draw against Atlanta United FC on the weekend in a game that saw coach Javier Perez heavily rotate his squad and give several starters the night off in order to save them for this showdown with Pacific.
Captain Michael Bradley, defenders Chris Mavinga and Auro Jr, and Canadians Jonathan Osorio and Richie Laryea didn't travel to Atlanta, regular starters Mark Delgado, Jacob Shaffelburg and Kemar Lawrence started on the bench, and DPs Jozy Altidore and Alejandro Pozuelo only played the first half. So, it’s pretty clear how much the Reds have prioritized this match and winning the Canadian Championship.
Here’s what you need to know about Wednesday's game (7:30 p.m. ET between TFC and Pacific FC at BMO Field.
