Westberg remains philosophical about his time on TFC's bench
"You need to understand that not everything is about yourself and not everything is about your own little pleasure," Westberg said.
Like the outfield players who line up in front of them, goalkeepers want to play all the time.
The desire to compete burns just as brightly within the men between the sticks, but they have to bide their time a lot more because of the very nature of the position they play.
There are 10 outfield players in the starting line-up, and others can get subbed in during the course of a game. But lest we forget, only one goalkeeper can play at any given time. Patience is part of the job requirement as a shot stopper, more so than any other player on the team. Quentin Westberg, to his credit, understands this.
