TFC winless in three after draw vs. Earthquakes
Toronto looked destined for an important home win before conceding in injury time against San Jose on Saturday.
- Toronto FC 2 (Kerr ‘71; Osorio 75’), San Jose Earthquakes 2 (Ebobisse 26’; Skahan ‘90'+2')
- Osorio bags 5th goal of season, collects 6th assist
- Reds have gone 27 MLS games without a clean sheet
TORONTO – Moral victories are nice, but Toronto FC could use the genuine kind right about now.
TFC was minutes away from snapping a two-game losing streak on Saturday night before they conceded in injury time and settled for a 2-2 draw against the San Jose Earthquakes before an announced crowd of 27,149 at BMO Field.
Deandre Kerr and Jonathan Osorio scored for Toronto (5-10-4), who has just two wins and eight points from its last 13 MLS matches, and remains rooted in the bottom half of the Eastern Conference table.
TFC hasn’t been playing all that badly in recent weeks, it has to be said. But they have to start posting some wins if they’re going to claw their way up the standings and make a serious run at a playoff berth with a little less than half a season to go.
