TFC notebook: Reds have momentum going into a tough week
Fresh off its first victory of the MLS season, Toronto FC will try to make it two in a row when it visits the San Jose Earthquakes this weekend.
Here are some news and notes from Tuesday's practice at the BMO Training Ground.
Brandon Servania: Miami win was 'huge for us'
Unlike in each of its first three games of the MLS campaign, Toronto FC took the lead and never looked back last Saturday against Inter Miami.
TFC received second-half goals from Canadian internationals Jonathan Osorio and Mark-Anthony Kaye in a 2-0 win, a result that snapped the team's nine-match winless skid (six losses) that dated back to last summer.
The victory also marked the Reds' first clean sheet since earning a 2-0 decision away to Charlotte FC on Aug. 27, 2022. Goalkeeper Sean Johnson made three saves against Miami to record his first shutout for Toronto.
