Tomás Romero: 'It was a blessing' getting picked up by Toronto FC
In a 1-on-1 interview, Romero discusses life under Bob Bradley at LAFC, his goals at TFC, playing for El Salvador, and much more.
Only 22 years old, goalkeeper Tomás Romero has already packed a lot into his young career.
After coming up through the Philadelphia Union’s youth system, he made his professional debut as a 16-year-old for the Bethlehem Steel, guided Georgetown University to its first ever national men's soccer title in 2019, earned his first senior team cap for El Salvador (he qualifies through his father), and made his MLS debut under Bob Bradley at LAFC in 2021.
Now Romero and Bradley are reunited after TFC selected the young goalkeeper in the MLS re-entry draft last November.
In this one-on-one interview with TFC Republic, Romero discusses what life was like under Bradley at LAFC, his expectations at Toronto FC, playing for El Salvador, and much more.
