Just eight days after their epic first leg of the 2016 Eastern Conference final, Toronto FC and the Montreal Impact produced another playoff classic, this time with TFC earning a thrilling 5-2 extra time win in the decisive return match at BMO Field.
“For me, [this] was the most exciting playoff event that I’ve ever been a part of and ever seen,” former Reds coach Greg Vanney stated.
This two-game set between the Canadian rivals is widely considered among the best playoff series in MLS history, capped off by a memorable second leg on a rainy night in Toronto.
