TORONTO – The recent international break didn’t end up taking the wind out of Toronto FC’s sails.
TFC benefited from an own-goal and a strike by Jesús Jiménez to post a 2-1 win over defending MLS champions New York City FC on Saturday evening before an announced crowd of 21,802 fans at BMO Field.
The win by Toronto (2-2-1) was its second of the campaign and marked the first time they won back-to-back games since Sept. 29-Oct. 3, 2021. TFC had been idle due to the international window since earning a 2-1 home win over D.C. United on March 19.
