Toronto FC vs. New York Red Bulls: What you need to know
Priority No. 1 for Toronto FC at the moment will be trying to earn its first win of the MLS season on Saturday when it visits the New York Red Bulls.
Having been bounced from the Concacaf Champions League this week, Toronto FC is now fully focused on the task at hand in Major League Soccer.
Priority No. 1 for Toronto at the moment will be trying to earn its first win of the season on Saturday when it visits the New York Red Bulls (1:00 p.m.. ET).
TFC looked uneven over the course of their first two games of the MLS campaign, a 4-2 loss to CF Montreal and a 2-2 draw with the Vancouver Whitecaps. But as Toronto starts to get players back from injury layoffs (with the notable exception of Alejandro Pozuelo), the expectation from coach Chris Armas is that the team will start to come good and show its true self.
"It's been a great start to the year in terms of just being in real games, where every play matters and every set piece — the whole bit," Armas said. "But now we can turn our focus to the MLS season and that's probably the most important thing in terms of the game on Saturday."
Here’s what you need to know about Saturday’s game between TFC and New York at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, NJ.
